Exchange/ALB Diary Clash Checking

When appointments or tasks are created in Exchange, they appear in the Pending Exchange Items list for the user to accept or reject. The following flow chart shows the logic behind the clash checking.

 

 

The above translates to the following user experience:

In the Pending Area, when the user clicks Confirm to an appointment, if there is no clash with an existing ALB Diary appointment, the new entry is created in ALBALB

If there is a clash, a warning message displays with three options:

Yes

Creates the appointment in the ALB Diary alongside the existing ALB appointment.

No

Displays the Appointment conflict dialog box for further investigation. It has three buttons:

View Appointment - displays the appointment details of the existing ALB appointment.

Confirm - confirms the new appointment alongside the ALB appointment.

Change - returns the user to the Pending Area.

Cancel

Returns the user to the Pending Area.

On returning to the Pending Area, the user can reject the new appointment, if appropriate.
