Anticipated Disbursement

An anticipated disbursement is a memo entry but can be upgraded to an actual disbursement later.

Reference

If you opened the posting screen via Accounts Enquiry with a matter displayed, Ref: is pre-populated. If not, click to use client or matter searches, the for the client's other matters, if any, or for recent and favourite matters.

Posting Template

To create a posting based on a template, select the template.  See Using templates for postings.

Date

Defaults to today. You can change this if the posting needs another date.

Posting Period

 Displays the posting period to which the date shown in Date belongs.  

Disb Type

Select the Disbursement type from the drop down list (predefined list, see Utilities Manual).

Description

This will be brought through automatically, add additional text if required.

Reference

Enter as applicable.

Bank

Defaults to the designated office bank.

Billing Code

For future use with the LSC Family Fixed Fees regime; leave as ‘Default’. If your firm does not do LSC work, billing codes can be set up in Utilities to be used as an additional set of activity codes, for example Uniform Task Based Management System (UTBMS) codes. For further details, please contact your Account Manager.

Debit/Credit

This defaults to Debit, enter a C if a credit is required.

Amount

Enter the amount including any VAT.

VAT Y/N

This defaults to N, Enter a Y if appropriate and the Rate and VAT Value will be displayed. This defaults to Standard Rate 1. If a different rate is applicable choose from the drop down list.

Once an anticipated disbursement becomes payable it can be upgraded to an unbilled disbursement or if billed an Unpaid Billing Disbursement.
