This is a double sided journal entry. It is a transfer from one nominal to another, resulting in a debit on one nominal and a credit on the other. It can be used for transferring items that have been accidentally posted to the wrong nominal, or for posting double-sided journals between nominals.

Branch |
The default branch for the nominal you are transferring from. You can select another branch for the posting if necessary. |
Transfer to Reference |
Type the nominal reference or click to search for the nominal. |
Transfer to Department |
The department associated with the nominal you are transferring to. |
Transfer to Branch |
The default branch for the nominal you are transferring to. You can select another branch for the posting if necessary. |
Posting Template |
To create a posting based on a template, select the template. See Using templates for postings. |
Date |
Defaults to today. You can change this if the posting needs another date. |
Posting Period |
Displays the posting period to which the date shown in Date belongs. |
Description |
Enter the posting description to be displayed on the nominal ledger. |
Reference |
Enter as applicable. |
Bank |
Defaults to the designated office bank. You can change this if necessary. |
Transfer to Bank |
Defaults to the designated office bank for the To nominal. |
Debit/Credit |
Defaults to Debit, meaning a debit of the first nominal referenced above. For a credit, type C to change this. A credit will credit the first nominal referenced above. |
Amount |
Enter the net amount to be transferred. |
Nominal Balance and Transfer Nominal Balance |
will be updated to reflect this posting prior to saving. |
Nominal Budget |
enables you to see how the firm is performing against target. |
