Complete address details

Addresses can be completed manually or with the help of the Address Lookup facility provided via integration with our partner GBG Matchcode360. This offers a sophisticated address/postcode verification, including partial matches of any address elements.

To complete an address manually:

Use this procedure if you know the full address already and are happy to type it in manually.

  1. Type the full address into the Address Details fields.

*Towns and counties are stored in the database. When you start typing, matching names are returned.

  1. Click Next/Finish.

To lookup an address electronically:

Use this procedure if you only know the house number and postcode and need to search for the address. The Address Lookup completes the full address if you enter the postcode (but for greater accuracy, also enter the house number) and the postcode if you enter the address.

Important Requires GBG Matchcode360 integration.

  1. Type the House Number and Postcode and then click the Lookup Address button.
  2. When the Address Lookup dialog box opens, locate the desired address and double-click it. The Address Details will be automatically completed.
  1. Click Next/Finish.
Notes
  • Do not repeat the house number in the Address field.
  • Do not include the "DX" prefix when typing the DX number.
  • Town and county can be typed or selected from a list as you type. These lists are stored in the database and maintained by system administrator in Utilities » Firm Options.
  • The Post Office does not use the county when sorting mail.
  • Advanced adopts the PISCES (Property Information Systems Common Exchange Standard) format for addresses. This is a distillation of a number of different address standards, and has been adopted by HM Land Registry for eConveyancing. The Additional Information tab has address fields such as Sub Building Name, for accurate transmission of data between systems in the future.
