Complete address details
Addresses can be completed manually or with the help of the Address
Lookup facility provided via integration with our partner GBG Matchcode360. This offers a sophisticated
address/postcode verification, including partial matches of any address
elements.
To complete an address manually:
Use this procedure if you know the full address already and are happy
to type it in manually.
- Type the full address into the Address
Details fields.
- House Number
- Postcode
- House Name
- Address
- Town*
- County*
- Country
- DX Address
- To indicate that the address is to be
used for mail, tick Mailing Address. Ticked by default.
- To indicate that the address is to be
used for bills, tick Billing Address. Ticked by default.
- To clear all the address fields (if
they are incorrect), click the recycle icon to the right of the
tabs.
*Towns and counties are stored in the database.
When you start typing, matching names are returned.
- Click Next/Finish.
- If you need to add contact
details, click Next or the Additional Information tab.
To lookup an address electronically:
Use this procedure if you only know the house number and postcode and
need to search for the address. The Address Lookup completes the full
address if you enter the postcode (but for greater accuracy, also enter
the house number) and the postcode if you enter the address.
Important
Requires GBG Matchcode360 integration.
- Type the House
Number and Postcode
and then click the Lookup Address
button.
- When the Address
Lookup dialog box opens, locate the desired address and double-click
it. The Address Details will be automatically completed.
- If the correct address has not been
found, then click Cancel
and enter the address manually (see above).
- To indicate that the address
is to be used for mail, tick Mailing Address.
- To indicate that the address
is to be used for bills, tick Billing Address.
- To clear
all the address fields (if they are incorrect), click the recycle
icon to the right of the tabs.
- Click Next/Finish.
- If you need to add contact
details, click Next or the Additional Information tab.
Notes
- Do not repeat the house number in
the Address field.
- Do not include the "DX"
prefix when typing the DX number.
- Town and county can be typed or
selected from a list as you type. These lists are stored in
the database and maintained by system administrator in Utilities
» Firm Options.
- The Post Office does not use the
county when sorting mail.
- Advanced
adopts the PISCES (Property Information Systems Common Exchange
Standard) format for addresses. This is a distillation of
a number of different address standards, and has been adopted
by HM Land Registry for eConveyancing. The Additional Information
tab has address fields such as Sub Building Name, for accurate
transmission of data between systems in the future.
