The ALB XML Gateway module enables the import of data to ALB from external sources, via .CSV files or Web services. Examples of using XML Gateway are for:
As a general rule, to use the XML Gateway, you create a Web service, which holds the information of the type of service, web addresses, log ins and passwords if it is logging on to external databases, mappings for the data to be received. This is set up in Utilities > Custom Data and Mappings, where the definitions are created and saved. Also saved are settings regarding which application and user(s) the Web service can be used with/by.
Once a Web service has been created for your system, where you run it from depends on the type of Web service. If it is to do with a specific client/matter, e.g. identification checking such as Call ML, it can be run from the Matter Details screen under the XML Gateway tab. If it is importing clients from a referrer, you run it from the Tools ribbon, XML Gateway button. On successful completion of an import, the data can be stored on Matter Details - Document History tab.
