Digital dictation

If you have purchased the optional Digital Dictation integration module, you can use digital dictation from within ALB, via Advanced Digital Dictation.

Note ALB does not provide for the saving of sound files. Advanced Digital Dictation manages this aspect. However, if you want to save dictations into Document History, then it is possible to drag and drop them in.

Setting up Advanced Digital Dictation

To use ADD with ALB, you need to set up your users with their ADD username and password. See Add system users for details.

Dictating from a matter or client record

You can begin dictation from Matter Details, Client Details or from a case module screen.

Description

 

Out button is used for closing the current dictation.

 

On Hold button is used for placing a loaded dictation on hold so that a more urgent dictation can be undertaken.

Delete button. Used to delete a loaded job.

CAUTION Deleting the loaded dictation will delete all data for that dictation. These are not added to the Deleted tab, but are permanently deleted.

Completed button is used when typing is finished.

  1. From the Actions menu, select Dictate. Advanced Digital Dictation opens. The details of the matter will already be added to Advanced Digital Dictation.
  2. Press Record to start recording your dictation.
  3. You can then:
  4. When you press Out, you will be asked to enter simple job details.
  5. Click Send to send the dictation to be dictated.

Dictating from the PMS Tools menu

You can also begin dictation from the PMS Tools menu.
