Filter time entries

This information applies to Time Recording, the Timesheet, and Accounts Enquiry.

You can filter time entries so you can see a particular view. This is useful, for example, if you just want to see the time you have posted today or all the time that is unallocated, etc.

To filter time entries in Time Recording or the Timesheet:

  1. Open the Time Recording application or the Timesheet and filter the time entries as required. You can:

    Change the fee earner In the Fee Earner drop-down, select the desired fee earner. The time entries are updated automatically.
    Show entries between two dates In the Date (from) field, type or select the start date. The time entries are updated automatically.

     

    In the To field, type or select the end date. The time entries are updated automatically.

    Filter by time status In the Filter by status drop-down, select the desired time status (All, Posted, Unposted, or Unallocated) and time type (Chargeable, Non-chargeable, or Both).

     

    Click Apply Filters to update the time entries.

    Show/hide reversals On the toolbar, click the Show/Hide Reversals button . The time entries are updated automatically.
    View your unposted time only Click the Show my unposted time link on the top right-hand side of the time grid. The time entries are updated automatically to show just your postings with a status of Unposted. Note This option automatically sets the Filter by status drop-down to Unposted.
    View your unallocated time only Click the Show my unallocated time link on the top right-hand side of the time grid. The time entries are updated automatically to show just your postings with a status of Unallocated. Note This option automatically sets the Filter by status drop-down to Unallocated.
    View your time recordings for today only Click the Show today's timesheet link on the top right-hand side of the time grid. The time entries are updated automatically to show just the time you have recorded today.

     

    Note This option automatically sets the Date (from) and To fields to today's date and the Filter by status drop-down to All.

To filter time entries in Accounts Enquiry:

  1. Open the Accounts Enquiry and filter the time entries as required. You can:
Options Details
Filter by time status In the Time status drop-down, select the desired time status (All, Unbilled, Billed, Claimed, or Written Off). The time entries are updated automatically.
Show/hide reversals On the toolbar, click the Show/Hide Reversals button . The time entries are updated automatically.
Notes
  • Totals are updated when filters are applied.

  • Filters are not retained when ALB is restarted.
