Create a screen
Use this procedure to create
a new screen so that your users can enter data. A screen consists of fields
and controls, which allows users to view, enter, or edit text or data.
Screen Designer provides the
tools for creating screens. Once you have named your screen you can then
use the toolbox to add all the desired
elements.
To create a screen:
- On the Home
tab, under Components, click
Create.
- From the drop-down menu, click Screen.
- When the Properties
pane opens, complete the following:
- Screen
name. (Mandatory) Specifies a unique name for the screen.
- Description.
Specifies a brief description of the screen.
- Entity
type. Specifies the owning entity.
- Once you have completed the properties, click
Designer or Design
on the ribbon. The editor opens, ready for you to start designing
your screen. By default, a top-level container is automatically displayed
in the Layout pane.
- Create your screen by adding
fields and controls
and configuring their properties.
- Click Save
to store your changes.
Notes
- The top-level container cannot
be removed.
- A screen cannot be saved
without a screen name.
- A screen cannot be saved
with the same name as an existing screen in this or any other
module. Names must be unique across all user-defined modules.
