Create appointments

You can use the diary to schedule appointments for meetings, court attendance, holidays, etc. The types of appointments are set up by administrators in Utilities (see Add diary resource types). Appointments can be created for single users and groups of users. The process is almost identical.

To create an appointment:

  1. In the diary, select the user for which you want to create the appointment.
  2. On the Home tab, in the New group, click Diary Appointment.
    • You can also right-click the diary and click New: Diary Appointment.
    • You can also press CTRL+N.
  3. When the Appointment for... screen opens, on the Appointment tab, complete the appointment details.
  4. (Optional) On the PMS Details tab, assign a client and/or matter to the appointment.
  5. Click OK to add the appointment.

To create a group appointment:

  1. In the diary, select the user for which you want to create the appointment.
  2. On the Home tab, in the New group, click Group Appointment, and then from the drop-down click one of the following:
      • Use Current Group. Automatically selects the group you are assigned to.
      • Select New Group. Allows you to select the desired group(s) from a list of those available. When the Organise users screen opens, select the required group(s), click Add, and then OK.
      • Use Everyone. Automatically selects all users and resources.
      • You can also right-click the diary and click New: Group Appointment.

  4. (Optional) On the PMS Details tab, assign a client and/or matter to an appointment.
  5. Click OK to add the appointment.

Tip You can also add an appointment from within the Client and Matter Details screens. On the Diary tab, right-click and select Add Appointment.
