Delete tasks
You may need to remove a task if, for example, it is no longer required
or has been entered by mistake. This is possible in the Tasks view, but
care should be taken before proceeding.
Caution
Deleting tasks will remove the details from the diary and remove all reminders.
However, you can view and reinstate
deleted tasks.
To delete a task
- In the Task
view, select the task you want to remove.
- On the Home
tab, in the Edit group, click
Delete.
- You can also right-click the
task and select Delete.
- You can also press the DEL
key.
- If the task is a recurring or multiple
date task, you will be asked which dates you want to delete. Tick
the dates to remove or click Select All to remove all occurrences.
- If the task has been assigned to multiple
people, you will be asked which people you want to remove from
the task. Tick the people to remove or click Select All to remove
all occurrences.
- Click Next.
You will now be prompted to give a reason and description for removing
the task.
- In Reason,
select the appropriate reason for deleting the task and type a description
(optional) in the space provided.
- Click Finish
to confirm the deletion. The deleted task will be removed from the
list.
- You can still see all deleted tasks
if you click Show Deleted on the ribbon. They appear in grey text.
Tip You can
also delete a task from within the Client and Matter Details screens.
On the Diary tab, right-click a task and select Delete
Selected Appt/Task.
