This information applies to clients.
When you are notified that a client has died, you should update their record in the database. Provision has been made so that if the date of death is known, you can enter this straight away or if not you can mark the client as deceased and complete the date of death later. Use this procedure to enter a date of death and/or mark a client as deceased.
To mark a client as deceased:
In the Client List, select the desired client.
On the Client Details tab, under Other Details, do one of the following:
If the date of death is known, then type or lookup the date in Date of death; or
If the date of death is not known, then tick Deceased.
The following rules apply:
If a date of death is entered that is before the date of birth, then a message is displayed prompting you to change it.
If a valid date of death is entered, then the Deceased option is ticked automatically and made unavailable, i.e. greyed out. However, clearing the date of death allows you to untick the Deceased option.
If a date of death has not been entered, then the Deceased option can be ticked.
Click Save. The client is now marked as deceased.
