Notifications are created with a default status of Non-critical. However, you may wish to increase the level of importance to Critical. A critical notification will automatically "pop" the associated note or undertaking text when switching the context for which a critical notification exists. For example, if you search for a matter in the Matter List and a critical matter notification exists for the matter, it will instantly appear.
To set a notification as critical:
In the Notifications tray, right-click the desired notification and click Critical. The notification icon changes to a red circle with an exclamation mark to indicate its severity.
A ToolTip is displayed if you hover over a critical notification icon, e.g. Critical Contact Notes, Critical Matter Notes.
To remove the Critical status, right-click and untick the Critical option.
(Optional) Repeat as required, as all notes and undertakings can be marked as Critical.
The critical notification(s) will now "pop" automatically when switching context. When "popped", the Critical Notifications dialog box opens. This shows all critical notifications for the current context and displays:
(Notes) The notification type, the user, the date and the note.
(Undertakings) The notification type, the fee earner, the date and the undertaking text. However, if there are multiple undertakings then the text "There are multiple undischarged undertakings for the selected matter" is displayed.
Notes
A critical notification will only be displayed once, when the context is initially set. For example, if a matter is selected in the Matter List which has a critical undischarged undertaking, the critical notification will be displayed. However, if you open the Undertakings for Matter screen then the same notification will not be displayed again.
The notification status or content cannot be changed via the Critical Notifications dialog box.
