Note These are tasks designed for an administrator of Laserform only. Please Contact us if you are unsure about performing these tasks.

Problem:

Laserform will not start and displays an ODBC Access Driver error.

Solution:

From a client PC/server that has the Laserform client installed, complete the following steps to repair the database.

  1.  In the Control Panel in Windows, open Administrative Tools.
  2. Open Data Sources (ODBC) 32-bit and select the System DSN tab.
  3. Select LFM8DBMAIN and click Configure....
  4. Click Repair, then OK.
  5. If you are told the database has successfully repaired, the issue will now be resolved. If you are told the database is already being accessed exclusively, then you will need to close these sessions in to the database before it can be repaired. To do this, ensure Laserform is closed on all PCs.
  6. Repeat the database repair steps above, but if you are still told that the database is being accessed exclusively, then you will need to connect to the server where the Laserform share is located to close the database connections.
  7. In the Control Panel in Windows, open Administrative Tools.
  8. Open Share and Storage Management.
  9. Manage Open Files.
  10. Select all connections to:
  11. Right-click and select Close Selected Files.
  12. Browse to your Laserform share and delete LFM7db.ldb and LFMadd32.ldb. Then repeat steps 1-4
