The limitation, inherent in all fixed forms that of having too much text than will fit into particular fields has been a major concern. The use of Microsoft Word™ templates provided an initial solution to this, providing expandability which allowed the fields within a form to absorb all of the required text by expanding the form, rather than by reducing the font size. Despite the flexibility provided by these templates, however, they did introduce a number of other limitations:
These issues prompted the development of Lforms, which combine the flexibility of Word Templates with all the functionality of fixed forms. Most of our Word Expandable forms have been phased out as the entire forms library is replaced with Lforms. We have however maintained 8 Land Registry Transfer forms (LRTP1-3 incl., LRTR1-5 incl.) in this format so that practices who typically input particularly sophisticated formatting – often a requirement of these forms - can continue to do so.
